Mežotne 2025, August 3rd-9th!
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Registration will open on February 3rd, 8am PST and close February 16th.
Camp fees for each child, Mazputniņš and Mazputniņš chaperone is $650. Half payment ($325) is due at time of registration. If you think you will be receiving scholarships, please email jenny.roberts@rklic.org to receive a coupon code to avoid having to pay the full payment upfront. If finances are a concern, please let us know.
AGE RESTRICTIONS
Children who are younger than four years of age on the first day of camp will not be considered as having priority when registration opens. Priority registration will be given to campers age 4 (as of the first day of camp) through age 13 (up to 8th grade).
-
Mežotne campers may attend Mezotne up to the end of their 8th grade year. Rising 9th graders are encouraged to sign up for Kursa, so they can complete four years at Kursa prior to their senior year of high school. Mežotne campers will not be eligible to attend both Mežotne and Kursa as campers.
Leadership and the Mežotne advisory board have decided to keep Mazputniņi to ages 4 and 5 ONLY, who must be age 4 by the first day of camp. Kids younger than 4 years of age as of the first day of camp will not be able to register. If space is available after registration closes, on March 1st we will open up a new session in Active Camp for those families with children under age 4.
REGISTRATION PRIORITY
WAITLIST
If a waitlist exists before or after February 14th, registration priority due to newly open spots (i.e., due to sleeping accommodation adjustments, open mazputnini spots from the other session, or cancellations) will occur in the following order:
- If Mazputnini is already at capacity, the next child without an accompanying adult chaperone listed on the wait list will be offered a spot.
- If Mazputnini is not at capacity, the next child listed in waitlist order from either session will be offered a spot. If a Mazputniņš is next in waitlist order, there must be room for both a child and adult chaperone (2 spots).
If a waitlist does not exist as of April 1, anyone who had previously expressed interest in future attendance, even under the age of four, will be contacted about open spots.
EXCEPTIONS
Mezotne directors reserve the right to make exceptions to this policy. Exception examples include “grandfathering” of past participants who are younger than 4 years old and infants who are not taking up accommodations (e.g., in a pack and play). After 2017, “grandfathering” will no longer be considered, even if the child participated in 2017.
For those who are interested in working this summer, please fill out the Staff and volunteer application. This is for both paid and volunteer staff. Filling out the staff application does not guarantee a position nor does it mean your volunteer placement will be one of your preferences. While tempting as a parent/guardian, please have your teen/young adult fill out their own application.
